Forever in My Memory
2022
This series shows my grandfathers’ living room throughout different moments in time. I believe spaces can show different parts of someone's life and memories.

The first piece shows how I remember the living room from when I was younger, when my cousins and I would build forts on top of the couch with the cushions. It is smaller and more detailed. The second piece is slightly larger, and the memory starts to feel a little less sharp, with more loose brushwork. It shows the space when my grandfather became very sick and spent most of his time on the couch. His slippers, medication on a nearby chair, and an oxygen tank are all in the room. The last piece is the largest and the most loose, with more thick brushwork, showing the living room after my grandfather’s passing, where the memory feels more blurred but still present.
